In 1912 he traveled to England to buy new… — Winners of The Clarence Moore Titanic Cup for High Performance Working Hunter Wynn Alden riding Ariel!!!
Donated by Betsee Parker, this trophy was owned by Clarence Moores, Master of the Loudoun Hunt in 1902. In 1912 he traveled to England to buy new hounds for the Loudoun Hunt. He during his travels home he sunk with the Titanic. Ever since, Virginians have asked the century old question, "Did the Hounds also go down on the Titanic?" Only some of the shipping lists have ever been found and none show records of any hounds. We will probably never know, but his legacy lives on in his trophy given to the Champion today. (June, 12th, 2014)
